Handle Boot Camp Errors and Data Loss in Mac
With the help of new technology and dual-boot system user can easily install Windows operating system on Macintosh machine. This is especially done with the help of Book Camp tool; it has been especially made to perform this job. It is very easy to perform, and after completion of installation user can boot their system either using MS Windows or Mac OS X. But sometimes this boot camp fails and due to this reason it stops in the middle and makes the system unusable.
In this condition it becomes important format the hard drive to resolve the problem but this result in severe data loss. In other situation it may also result problem while booting Mac OS X operating system. Not only is this but you may also encounter error problem such as:
“The Disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved.
Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a Single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again.”
Similarly, if you try to remove the Boot Camp volume, the below error occurs:
“The startup Disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.”
Basic reason for this problem is Mac OS X hard drive inaccessible or corruption by the boot Camp program and on the other hand if the Windows partition in Boot Camp partition is turned to active.
Resolution of the problem:
It is important to follow step-by-step procedure to resolve the problem:
- At first format the Mac OS X hard drive and then install the operating system.
- By using Disk Utility reboot your system
- Then restore the data from backup and clean the backup
But if the problem does not get resolved then user can format the hard drive and use third party software known as Mac Hard Drive Recovery Software, to restore deleted data.
As such this software has highly-advanced scanning mechanism that performs thorough scanning of the hard drive. And finally restores the lost or deleted data from Mac hard drive.
